Hawker Hurricane MK I designed by Brian Taylor
Electric Powered: Hawker Hurricane M.K. I (Late Production Version)
I purchased the short kit from sarik hobbies for Brian's Hawker Hurricane in 1/6.8 scale with a wingspan of 70". I have Brian's drawings from around 1986 that were released by Radio Control Modeller, plan No. R.M. 87. The drawings provided by sarik hobbies appears to me a more updated version but I don't have them in PDF so I will use the original set from RCM. I enlarged the plans using Photoshop to create this elegant bird in a true 1/6th scale. The Hawker Hurricane fighter has a wingspan of 40 feet, which when reduced to 1/6th scale, builds into an impressive wingspan of 80 inches. Changes will be made to incorporate a three-piece wing to make transporting easy. 90% of the plane is scratch built by me, this includes all the wood material will be hand cut from my patterns. The fiberglass cowling and cockpit canopy will be made by me as well along with many other scale items.

My research has lead me to pilot officer, Arthur "Taffy" Clowes of No.1 Squadron based in Wittering, Huntingdonshire (England) 1 October 1940. [The Battle of Britain]
Ftl. Clowes is credited with the shooting down of ten aircraft,
one of which was shared with other pilots. A share in the destruction of one
additional aircraft was unconfirmed. He is also credited with three aircraft
probably destroyed and two damaged. He developed liver cancer and was hospitalized at RAF
Hospital Ely, in Ely. He died there on 7 December 1949 and was buried at
Brampton
3-View I'm using, I started to trace the plans so I could transfer the patterns to my balsa sheets.
