DR1-Tail Feathers

 Rudder, Elevator and Stabilizer

Going to replace the stabilizers trailing edge with a brass tube for a more scale appearance.

Brass is now glued into place and looks much better than the plastic molded one.

I will be adding the wood blocking that is mounted around the hinge locations on the elevator and rudder. These were installed to allow the covering to be attached to the metal structure.

Getting the rudder ready for covering the right side.

I'm using Eze Tissue to cover half of the Fokker DR1, looks like real fabric once you get some paint on the material.

Most of the metal framing on the DR1 was wrapped with the same material that it was covered in. This was applied with dope in 2"+/- size strips of material and once dry provided a means of attaching the linen covering material with dope and some stitching.

Added the wood fairing that was attached to the stabilizer giving the elevator an attachment point.

Test fitting the rudder wood post setup to make sure everything mounts correctly.
