The tail skid became quite the challenge and went through multiple attempts. At first I just copied the shape of the kits black plastic tail skid and made it out of wood for a more realistic look. Then Gary Sewall released an update to his drawings which included the tail skid. The original tail skid had a much different outline then the kits, so back to the drawing board. This time I will use my new Falcon A1 Pro laser cutting to cutout the shape using Gary's drawing. This laser cutter is incredible and will aid in producing parts for any build.
Laser cutter tail skid fresh out of the Falcon A1 Pro.
Making the brass fittings for the tail skid, these will be based off of Gary's drawings as well. The top mounting bracket is from the kit and I will use it as is.
Completed Tail Skid ready for install.
